Qualifications

The following individuals cannot apply or renew their OWWA membership if they do not meet the requirement of being currently working:

1. Unemployed individuals: Those who are not currently employed as overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and do not have a valid work contract or engagement cannot apply for or renew their OWWA membership.
2. Retired OFWs: OFWs who have already retired and are no longer actively working abroad are not eligible to apply or renew their OWWA membership. OWWA primarily caters to the needs and welfare of active OFWs.
3. OFWs on vacation or leave: If an OFW is on vacation, on leave, or temporarily back in the Philippines and not engaged in any overseas employment during that period, they are not considered as actively working and cannot apply or renew their OWWA membership until they resume work.
4. OFWs with expired contracts: If an OFW’s work contract has expired, and they have not secured a new contract or employment, they cannot apply or renew their OWWA membership until they have a valid and active work arrangement.

Step by step how to set up an appointment for OWWA payment

To set up an appointment with the POLO-OWWA Hong Kong office, check out the following steps below:

1. Go to POLO Hong Kong official website at https://polo-hongkong.com/

2. On the upper part of the screen, click the “Schedule an Appointment” button

3. Choose the Individual Contract Verification on the options provided

4. Next, select a date you prefer, and click the “Search” button. If the date you have chosen has no available slots, pick another date.

5. When slots are available on your chosen date, select the time of appointment, and click the “Proceed” button

6. Fill out the required fields in the Appointment System Domestic Workers Personal Information, including Full Name, Passport Number, Passport Expiration Date, Email Address, Hong Kong Contract Number, and Hong Kong Contact Number.

7. On the Purpose of Application, choose Renewal of Contract.

8. Fill out the Employer’s Information, including the First Name, Last Name, and Middle Name (Optional).

9. Once you’re sure of the date of your appointment and all required information is correct, click the Submit” button. You can also opt to click the Change Date or Cancel Booking button if you’re uncertain.

10. Lastly, go to your email and take a screenshot of your booking appointment confirmation. Then print a copy, as you will need to present it at your appointment.
